Wednesday
14th December posted by Hannah It is official.
Daniel is enormous. Having spent a couple of hours this afternoon with baby
James, I came home to a huge, big-mouthed, grinning, wriggling, shouting,
banana-obsessed, beast-of-a-boy. The arrival of a
newborn has revealed all the growing that Daniel has been doing! I do not know when he did it or
where I was at the time, but like Topsy he grewed. James
Burgess ~ previously known as Lionel the bump Tuesday
13th December posted by Mab Howdo everyone, puppa
mabs writing this. Little Lionel
has transformed into big James and is doing really well. Lou reckons he has got a big mouth like his dads and judging by the
noise he makes I think I will have to concede defeat on this one. Lou hopes to be home on
Thursday/Friday and is doing amazingly well. More later when IÕve had some sleep. mab

Hannah and Jon Hooraahhhh. It is another birthday today. One that has been long expected but
only Ivor guessed when the magic date would be. We are SO pleased
to welcome the healthy and gorgeous son of Mark and Louise into the
world. He weighed in at 7lbs
10ozs and all 3 are well. He
arrived after a lot of hard work at 7:30 this morning. In a quiet moment when his parents
were not looking, he whispered to me that he is rather looking forward to
meeting you all. Congratulations, we
are so proud of you all. Celebrations
Monday
5th December posted by Hannah Daniel is a
hearty-half-a-year-old today!
This morning I was over in Coniston to finalise our plans for New
Year. This picture is for you to
enjoy if you are desk-bound today.
It shows the view looking south-west down Coniston water at lunchtime.

Friday
2nd December posted by Jonathan It is good that
Hannah and Daniel are safely back up north and even better that he slept
straight through until 8am this morning! He can now go out to play with his friends. More

28th November posted by Jonathan The snow here is
disappearing up the mountains fast but here are a few more shots from the
walks at the weekend. Beauty
Sunday
27th November posted by Jonathan My eyes could not
take enough in. It was wonderful
to take a quick walk, with Dave, up Red Screes to loosen up my aching
muscles. Everywhere we looked we
feasted our eyes on newly formed snow and ice creations. The cold had transformed the
landscape and highlighted its beauty. A Sunday afternoon stroll does not get
better than this. A
bit of exercise
Saturday
26th November posted by Jonathan It is cold here at
the moment, but when we were flown into the hills for a night navigation exercise
I had not realised just how cold. It was a well set course we had to follow
back to the vehicles, made all the more challenging by the combination of the
dark, snow, -20 windchill and low cloud. I know it sounds
slightly odd, but I loved it.
Rarely do I have to physicallywork as hard or think seriously under
testing conditions. A lovely
night out, but alas I only took one photo when we dropped low enough to be
sheltered and out of the snow. I
have added a photo from the next day (Sunday) to show how cold it was on the
tops. The
hills are alive

Jonathan Being in the hills
can sometimes be very special and Monday was such a day. After 3 days of being constantly
soaked we woke up to the most magical snowy Cairngorm morning. Here are just a few
of the favourite pictures from the weekend: |
