a lovely few days        Thursday 28th june posted by jonathan

Up until today we've had a bit of rain but nothing out of the norm. We've even had a few really clear patches of sunshine. However, it's properly raining again now and it's doing the new turf the world of good. In the picture of windermere below you can see the lovely skyline of the Langdales, an inspiring, unmistakable and favourite outline of mine that can be seen from all around.

There are two small puddles of water in the lid of the drain cover outside our back door and driving his lego helicopter through these has become Daniel's new favourite pastime.

parklife        friday 8th june posted by hannah

We've had such a lovely week weather-wise. Sunny and hot every day which has meant it's been very easy to entertain two small boys with trips to the park and the river and afternoons in the paddling pool.

I stole this shot from Mark and Louise's camera so can't claim any credit for taking it. It's been great having them around this week.

bye-bye hard-core            monday 4th june posted by hannah

Today we waved goodbye to the last remaining 8 tonnes of hardcore that were dug out of the garden last month. A very nice man from inter-grab came and whisked it over the fence with incredible skill. I can happily report that the fence, wall and pergola remained intact throughout and that we have now rediscovered the washing line.

cousin james            sunday 3rd june posted by hannah

Mark, Louise, James and Maisie arrived late last night. Daniel was very pleased to find James in his house this morning - and supremely excited to discover Maisie. This photo shows Daniel introducing James to 'Tractor Tom.'

Out with the old and in with the new! We'll be double glazed this afternoon - it's a good job it's not raining.
