Nico and Luca celebrated their third birthday today. We toasted them with Champagne and christened the new children's playground at Fell Foot. I rather think that the congratulations should go to Rich and Jo for surviving three years with the Keekos.

We had a great walk on Sunday night after the small people were in bed. Adam and Pip were with us and we went up to the top of Red Screes. It's a fantastic view point because from there you can see most of the lakeland peaks. We watched the sunset and ate pork pies.

These are this first of our wild strawberries, we're hopeful for more, but in the meantime I've put these in a trifle - yum.

Daniel fell asleep in the car yesterday afternoon which seemed like a good idea at the time, but come 7pm, meant that he wasn't remotely ready for bed. After several hours of stories and videos, he eventually crashed-out at 10pm, with his best friend Thomas.

Bethan and I baked 44 chocolate cakes for Party in the Park on Sunday. A jesture of uncharacteristic chocolate generosity that I now regret as we didn't keep any for ourselves - not even one, and the cupboard is bare. I propose that in this case, it is more blesséd to receive.

Today was the first year that we were able to get fully involved in our church's annual Party in the Park. The party is thrown for everyone in the local community with no agenda other than to have a great time - and we did, together with 8,000 folks who came and partied with us! This is a photo of Daniel who was on the litter picking team.

Daniel celebrated his third birthday today with pizza and train cake. Strawberries, marshmallows, Keekos, McLellands, curly-wurly straws and naked lion wrestling were all involved and a good time was had. More photos here.
