so grown up! tuesday 8th may posted by hannah
Our boy is so big! He's learning to put together sentences and the best of today's were: "the sun comes in the morning" and "bye-bye, soon-back, tomorrow!"
garden working party III monday 7th may posted by hannah
There can't be many gardens that have changed as much as ours this bank holiday weekend. We've finished off the turf today and connected up our new sprinkler! Hooray! It is done and we're looking forward to many happy days sitting on the grass. Thank-you to; Adam, Pip, Paula, Roger, Helen, Pam, Chris, Cherrie, James, Charlotte, Paul, Tom, Tash, Pete, Kara, Ian, Rob, Rach, Hannah, Caleb, Heather and all the children. We couldn't have done it without you. More photos here
garden working party II sunday 6th may posted by hannah
After 20 hours of shovelling by 13 people (and 11 children), tonight we are making progress and the first of the turf has been laid. We've eaten 8 loaves of bread, 4 cakes and 3 dozen sausages, shifted 60 concrete slabs and 16 tonnes of hardcore - but there's light at the end of the tunnel now!
garden working party I saturday 5th may posted by hannah
This weekend we are having a working party to banish the gravel and lay some turf in the garden. Today has been quite challenging and not a little dispiriting as what we thought was a thin layer of gravel on top of a membrane, turned out to be a thin layer of gravel on top of a membrane, on top of bricks, on top of hardcore.

We've found a tunnel in the playground at Ingleton which makes the perfect setting for an imaginary game of trains. This is Daniel pretending to be an engine!

blossom wednesday 2nd may posted by hannah
This tree is in full bloom outside the back of one of the village pubs. When we saw it, the wind was blowing petals to the ground and it looked like it was snowing. Better still, a kitten was trying to bat the petals as they fell. It would have been a terrific photo but we missed it! The tree is still pretty on it's own though.
