Burgi, Bats & the new Mrs Bastable     16th - 25th may posted by hannah

We've been sunning ourselves in the south-east again.

A Burgess family wedding prompted the trip and we exploited the excuse to have a holiday. We fed the cows at Fishponds Farm, swam in the open air pool in Tonbridge and saw giraffes in Chelmsford High Street! We also were able to help Peter and Yvonne take down their old greenhouse - this felt like quite an acheivement with 4 children under three!

More pictures here.

florence      monday 12th may posted by hannah

Today being Monday we were out and about with Flo, Nico and Luca. We went to the Lake District Visitor Centre at Brockhole which has a great adventure playground and plenty of lake frontage for picnics. I am slowly getting used to our new camera and was really pleased with this picture of Flo.

oh happy boy     friday 8th may posted by hannah

Daniel has spent the afternoon in the river, paddling with the big children. It has been another very hot day. So hot infact, that rumour has it there was even 'a daddy' in the river earlier - in his birthday suit! How shocking! We retreated to the privacy of our own garden and splashed about a bit more in some buckets (fully clothed).

ali & rob      tuesday 5th may posted by hannah

On monday we saw Ali, Rob and Darwin-dog and met baby Sam. They are all well and happy and living in the beautiful cotswolds. Darwin is still fully absorbed by food or the possibility of food 24/7. Most amusingly, she has recently eaten a bag of fat balls (intended for the birds)!

It was fantastic to catch-up with Ivor, Bex and Molly over the weekend. They were wonderful hosts and Bex is a brilliant cook so we were fed like kings! They even babysat for us on saturday night. This is Ivor with Molly and Daniel at the zoo on Friday.

mooching      sunday 3rd may posted by hannah

Post wedding we took the opportunity to have some family time and a mooch around Clifton. We walked across the Clifton suspension bridge and had lunch overlooking the Avon gorge.

My cousin tim got married today. It was a day full of joy, family, smiles and large amounts of cake.

going to the zoo      friday 1st may posted by hannah

We took a day trip to Bristol Zoo today with Ivor, Bex and Molly. We enjoyed seeing all the animals and our favourites were the seals. I was amazed to see them underwater. They swim like torpedoes! Quite different to how they look when you can only see their grey heads bobbing about at the surface. You will notice that this is not a picture of a seal, but of a butterfly!
