flying  along                     Thursday 30th august posted by Jonathan

Time seems to be flying along here: Bethan is 7 weeks old and over the weekend Daniel was exhuasted by flying around Fell Foot with his Uncle . We're on a bumpy ride but Bethan seems to be slowly developing a sleep pattern that lasts for more than a couple of hours at a time. Hoorah

slate                        wednesday 22nd august posted by Jonathan

I took a day off today and tried to create a patio outside the back door to cover the mud we'd exposed in our last garden adventure. However, after the long preparation that felt like a giant jigsaw puzzle, we managed to lay and cement in only 14 of the 98 slates. I become more convinced every day that I am not cut out for Doing It Myself.

damp                                saturday 18th august posted by Jonathan

Taking the picture below, at 11am, the flash fired! That may give you an indication as to how dark and wet it has been here all day. Despite the deluge we've found ourselves having a fun & relatively productive day. This Rose has flowered twice this year: Is this normal?

boys and mums                                friday 17th august posted by Jonathan

It's a real adventure to walk to the station, catch the train to Windermere, have lunch, play with the great random fountains of the water feature at Lakeland Limited until you're soaked and come home again. Not surprisingly all were exhausted when they got home and showed little interest in my new found love of hip-hop. We'll all sleep well tonight.

grasses                                Thursday 16th August posted by Hannah

We've had so much rain that the grasses are as tall as the house. Unfortunately the sunflowers are not, having been eaten by the slugs.

some evening sun                                    Monday 13th August posted by Jonathan

We've been having a fair bit of of inclement weather recently even whilst the rest of the country seems to be bathed in warmer sunshine. However, yesterday the sun came out and gave some lovely light on the Montbretia at the end of the day. We're tired, but life is good.

Daniel is really enjoying having a baby sister to be protective over and enjoys pushing her out in the pram ...... albeit with supervision and help on the hilly bits.
