We have a special VIP visitor in residence, Baby Neve is here for his first holiday in lakeland. The preparations for his arrival were extensive and involved much rummaging in forgotton corners of the loft for baby toys, highchair attachments and pram, remarkably we found everything and now he is finally here. Dan and Boo are proving themselves to be very attentive cousins and we're all enjoying trips to soft play and outings in the pram. (Photo courtesy of Matt).

Dear all, I would love to bring you a photo of Bethan's birthday horse ride, or Staveley carnival, or Grandma and Grandpa Burgess in the lakes, or Dan and his class paddling about in Windermere yesterday or Beth and her bear at this morning's teddy bear's picnic, but alas our camera is very sick. It was taken ill on Saturday and has gone to Glasgow for repairs. We hope to have it home again soon.

In the absense of a spare couple of hundred thousand pounds, we've decided to make Fisherground campsite in Eskdale our holiday home. It has many advantages, including the fact that it's only an hour away and we don't have to worry about security when we're not there! It's also superbly positioned in one of the loveliest valleys in the lakes. We've been over there this weekend with good friends, walking boots, sausages and money for ice-cream.
