While Bethan slept this afternoon Daniel and I made apple crumble. We were quite short of apple by the time we actually put it in the oven because one of the chefs kept eating it but it was good fun.

Bethan has been trying to wean herself over the last few days. She has lunged for wholemeal scone, peddled frantically at satsuma and today drooled at Daniel eating chocolate dipped marshmallows at Holker Hall Winter Fair.

Jon, Peter and Yvonne braved the village firework display last night where each set of fireworks was announced over the PA, the most memorable being: "Now we've got four rockets, oh no they're not, they're Roman Candles. Have you got the matches Clive?"
