We're still loving leaves in this neck of the woods. They have become a daily source of entertainment and delight to Daniel who greats every new pile with shouts of glee and "woweeee, look at all the leeeaves!"

Bethan snoozing in her bedroom in the loft. It seems incredible that this room didn't exist a year ago and neither did she!

rescue                                                friday 26th october posted by Hannah

We were counting the contents of Mountain Rescue collections boxes today in Kendal when the team were called out. The base became a hive of activity almost instantly and within 15 minutes, over a dozen team members had arrived and been dispatched in rescue vehicles. This is Daniel sitting in one of the landrovers.

We woke up yesterday morning to a thick frost and had to rummage around for hats and gloves before we went out.

hooks                                                 wednesday 24th october posted by Hannah

I went to a sale of goods recently at an independent school that is closing down. These hooks were in the changing room and they now have a new home in our hall - all 32 of them! Should be enough room for all our clobber.

Charlie has got a digger in his garden and today Mike showed Daniel how to drive it! This was all extremely exciting and as a result we had to play 'digging' all afternoon in our garden.

kentmere                                                 saturday 6th october posted by Hannah

Today we walked up the Kentmere valley with Adam and Pip. We were aiming for the reservior at the top but didn't make it that far. Daniel walked a good chunk of the way and Bethan snoozed in the pram. There is a track all the way from the village which makes it an easy walk with small people.

routine queen                                                 thursday 4th october posted by Hannah

God Bless Gina Ford. It seems that the answer to Bethan sleeping through the night is rigid, unbending routine. Having stepped up the structure to her day she has slept from 7pm to 7am waking only twice - hooray, hooray. If it works for her, it works for me and I am looking forward to a big sleep. Oh yes indeed.

Today Daniel and I have been to the dentist. We both passed with flying colours and Daniel is now proudly sporting a winnie-the-pooh sticker on his chest. This is a photo of Daniel on the way to buy bread for lunch.

happy monday's                                                 monday 1st october posted by Hannah

I love monday's because we always spend the day with Tash, Flo, Nico, Luca and Jo. Today was no exception and we headed across the lake on the car ferry to Far Sawrey for a picnic. This is Daniel and Flo playing on the beach. The ferry costs just £1 return, not bad for a fab day out! I should write a book - Family days out in the Lake District for a quid.
